Leanheimsness respects the intellectual property of others and expects our readers to do the same. We act quickly on valid notices.
How to file a notice
Email [email protected] with the subject DMCA NOTICE. Include the exact URL of the material, a description of the work you own, and your contact details. Anonymous complaints without evidence are refused.
What happens next
We review every complete notice within three working days. If the claim holds, we take the material down first and ask questions later. We will tell you what we removed and when.
Counter notices
If you believe your content was removed in error, send your name, address and consent to jurisdiction. We will restore the material after ten working days unless the original complainant files a court action. Questions go to [email protected].
Repeat offenders
We keep a record of valid notices. Accounts and contributors who repeatedly upload material they do not own are removed permanently. Photographs, maps and long excerpts are the most common problem, so we ask readers to link to a source rather than copy it in full. The United States Copyright Office explains fair use and notice requirements at copyright.gov.
Fair use is real, and so is fair dealing. We try to honor both.
